After the original Strategic Plan was created in 1998, the Board and staff embarked on a Capital Campaign to raise the $1.75 million needed for the construction. The Manor received a grant from HUD for over $1 million, and raised the rest through the charitable donations of many local foundations and businesses. The official groundbreaking took place in October 2001, and by August of 2002 all of the women were able to move into their new homes. Of the four new houses, three have four bedrooms, and one has six bedrooms. The smaller, more personalized homes give the women a greater sense of individuality and independence, as well as pride in a place they may call their own. Visit our Residential Program page to learn more about the women and their daily lives. <<previous ............................................................................................................. more>> | ||||
