FUNDRAISING

Currently, about 76% of the Manor’s funding comes from state and county funds, through the Department of Mental Health and the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of Clay County. General grants and donations amount to about 13%, and the Immacolata Manor Thrift Shop makes up approximately 7% of the total budget receipts.  Of all money received in FY2004, 87% went directly into the programs, with only 9% toward administrative overhead and 4% for fundraising and development expenses.

Funding is always a concern for a non-profit organization. Our goals for the future include building an endowment for Immacolata Manor, and increasing sources of income outside of state funds.  Due to recent Medicaid cuts in the state of Missouri, we are facing a potential tightening of the budget, as well as probable cuts to dental, vision, podiatry and other services.  These cuts, added to rising gasoline and insurance expenses, make fundraising and long-term funding support more important than ever.

Immacolata Manor has several different methods of fundraising, including grant requests as well as various events throughout the year.  Janey’s Over the Next Hill Motorcycle Ride is the Manor's biggest fundraising event, held annually in June.  The organizers of this event are entirely volunteers who donate their time, experience and services to provide this tremendous support to the Manor.  Our staff and volunteers also participate in other, smaller fundraisers throughout the year, such as the Valentine’s Day Bowl-a-thon.
